Located on the Jonah Gas Field in western Wyoming, the Jonah Workforce Facility is more than 7,000 feet above sea level on Bureau of Land Management land, between Pinedale and Rock Springs.
This is the first work camp to be constructed on BLM land in Wyoming, and began operating in January 2009. AC&SS provides food service, housekeeping, janitorial, security, facility maintenance and water/wastewater treatment for camp residents.
A major success for this facility is improved worker safety. Prior to opening the workforce camp, most employees were commuting from nearby communities, putting in at least three hours a day on the road. Today, workers are now just minutes from the jobsite. Minimizing daily traffic on the roads has also reduced environmental impact.
